Double TV Beds

A 4ft6 double bed with the television inside the footboard. The screen rises on a remote when you want it and disappears when you don't, so the room keeps a wall free and loses nothing to a TV stand.

Double frames take a standard UK double mattress, 4ft6 × 6ft3 (135 × 190cm) — the size most UK bedrooms are built around, and the size most of our range is made in.

Does a 43-inch screen suit a double bed?

Yes, and it is the usual pairing. On a double, the pillow sits roughly 1.8 metres from the footboard, which is comfortable viewing for a 43-inch screen. The limits are the same across the range: up to 43 inches, maximum 9cm deep, 100mm or 200mm VESA holes on the back. Send us the model number and we'll confirm it fits. See all 43-inch TV beds.

Fitting a double TV bed into a smaller room

This is the size people most often buy for a room that is already tight, so measure before you order:

  • The frame is wider and longer than the 135 × 190cm mattress — each product page lists exact dimensions.
  • The footboard is taller than on a normal bed, because the screen is housed inside it. Check it against a window sill or radiator.
  • If the base is an ottoman, leave room at the foot to lift it.

In a genuinely small room, a single TV bed with a 32-inch screen may fit where a double will not.

Storage as well as a screen

Many of these beds lift on gas struts for ottoman storage. The lift mechanism occupies the foot end of the base, so expect the full width and about 60% of the length. For maximum storage without a screen, see double ottoman beds.

Questions

Is the television included?

No, unless the product page says otherwise. You supply the TV; our two-person team clips it to the bracket and tests the lift with you on delivery day, at no charge.

Does it need an electrician?

No. One 13A socket at the foot of the bed runs both the lift and the television, with the cable inside the frame.

Can I add surround sound?

Yes — see surround sound TV beds, where speakers and a subwoofer are built into the frame.

What is the guarantee?

Five years on the frame and the lift mechanism, two years on the upholstery. Faults are usually fixed by posting you the part; if not, we collect the bed and repair it free.
