What Size TV Fits a TV Bed? Screen Size, Depth and VESA Explained

Grey boucle bed in a bedroom

The most common question we get is whether a customer's own television will fit. The answer comes down to four measurements, and you can check all of them in a couple of minutes.

The short answer

Most of our TV beds take a television up to 43 inches — see every TV bed for a 43-inch TV. Our single TV beds take up to 32 inches. The exact limit is on every product page.

1. Screen size is only a guide

Screen size is measured diagonally, and two 43-inch TVs can have different outer dimensions because of the bezel and stand design. What matters is whether the TV's body fits the space inside the footboard.

2. Width and height

On our double, king and super king frames that space is 98cm wide and 58cm high. Measure your TV's width and height without the stand, including the frame around the screen. Both need to be within those figures.

3. Depth

The TV must be no deeper than 9cm, measured at the thickest point of the back panel. Most modern flat-screen LED TVs are well within this. Older or bulkier sets may not be.

4. VESA pattern

VESA is the spacing of the four screw holes on the back of the TV. The bracket in our beds takes 100mm or 200mm patterns. You will find the VESA size in your TV's manual or on the manufacturer's website, usually written as 100x100, 200x100 or 200x200.

Quick checklist

  • Screen size within the bed's stated limit (43" for most frames, 32" for singles)
  • TV width no more than 98cm and height no more than 58cm, without the stand
  • TV depth no more than 9cm
  • VESA 100mm or 200mm

Don't have a TV yet?

Some of our beds come as a bundle with a 43-inch Smart HD TV and a mattress, so the fit is already sorted. Look for "Smart HD TV" in the product title within our TV beds range.

Still unsure? Send us your TV's model number through our contact page and we will check it before you order. For more background, read how a TV bed works.
