Ottoman TV Beds: Screen and Storage in One Bed

Ottoman TV bed with storage base

An ottoman TV bed combines two mechanisms in one frame: a motorised screen that rises from the footboard, and a gas-lift base that opens to reveal storage underneath the mattress. It's the more space-efficient version of a TV bed, if you don't want to give up storage for the screen.

How much storage is actually left?

This is the question we're asked most. The TV lift housing sits at the foot end and takes up roughly 40% of that end of the base — so you lose some length, but keep the full width. In practice that's still enough for spare bedding, pillows, or seasonal clothing, just less than a plain ottoman storage bed without a screen gives you.

How the base opens

Most of our ottoman TV beds lift from the foot end, on the same side as the screen housing; a few open from the side instead. The product page for each bed states which, and it's worth checking against your room layout — a foot-opening base needs clearance in front of the bed, a side-opening one needs it along whichever side you choose.

Is it worth it over a plain storage bed?

If storage is your main priority, a plain ottoman storage bed without the screen carries more. If you want both in one footprint rather than buying a separate TV stand, an ottoman TV bed is the more efficient use of the room.

Built and guaranteed the same way
